No time to feel human

We will never have as much time as people did in the past. Reading Austen’s Emma, I realized that they used to have enough time to feel human. The descriptions of their thoughts, their actions, their attitudes or their approach to events are all so detailed that I felt as if I were stuck in time again, thinking all the things I have to deal with today. Everything I feel responsible for abruptly seemed fake and time-consuming leaving me to feel I have no time to feel human.

That might be the reason why we are inclined to use new technologies, feeling super excited to be faster than ever and believing that we will have more time for ourselves, which soon turns out to be untrue, of course.

It seems that we have forgotten what humans really need. The old consumer society brought up super consumers who can never be pleased or slowed down. To me, people will never be phenomenologically satisfied again, and AI technologies are making things even harder because they are not compatible with the natural rhythm of our human life.

Perhaps this is what makes me curious about AI utilization.
